That’s right. Sumi Big Daddy Bear has got a drill arm now, and I’m here to save little girls from splicers by drilling anyone who gets in my way in the face.
At least until we’re done playing Bioshock 2.
Then I’ll only drill Nicholas in the face.
My best bear bud Nicholas and I have a tendency to stay up late.
For games.
For him to make money so I can play games.
For long road trips where I don’t get to game but I insist he keep driving so we can get home and I can play games all the sooner.
Anyway, Nicholas’ best human friend Drew wanted to test his bud’s knowledge of energy drinks, so we set up a blind taste test.
I had faith. He wasn’t going to let his best bear bud down. Otherwise it’s a smack in the face from my paw! The stakes were high.
Best bear bud success! Ok we can celebrate by making hot cocoa for me.
And now that he’s all wired up on energy drinks we can game all night!
Late afternoon.
It is raining, as it always does. A steady patter of water strikes the windows and walls of the workshop.
Within the workshop, there is a bear. And his bud. Both are silent.
The bear sits and watches with intense concentration, completely fixated on the task at hand. With every stitch, an object begins to take form.
The bear continues to watch. It is coming closer to completion.
It is a hat. His hat.
Finally it is done. He leans over and examines the finished work.
Then, with a nod of satisfaction, he dons the Fedora hat.
He is now ready.
Thanks for making me a hat Nicholas! This dapper bear is ready to play detective in LA Noir!
That’s right.
My best bear bud built me a Captain’s chair so I can issue orders from the comfort of my very own hickory chair.
Does your best bear bud do that for you?
Didn’t think so.
Nicholas, hot chocolate! and games!
Well, it’s been almost 7 months in Chile and now it’s time to say goodbye.
Chile, it’s been fun. I liked playing tourist. I didn’t like my lack of internet. I tolerated my amount of gaming and I enjoyed hoarding alfajores — but let’s be real. It’s time to get back on a plane and get back to some real gaming and bear tin growing!
Adios! Let’s go Nicholas!
Nicholas got me my own my-sized Moai statue-pisco!
This is going into my gaming bear cave. Because ever serious gaming bear cave needs a moai statue in it.
I like it so much I go to sleep with it.
Today is a very important day.
So important, in fact, that I’ve given it its own name…never mind that it happens every week. Here it is — wait for it —
Super. Sumi. Saturday. !
Super Sumi Saturdays are meant for two things, and two things only. Gaming. And Sleeping in.
Here I am taking a break from smacking my best bear bud awake to let us both recover.
Sufficient rest is important. We have to be in tip top form for these challenging activities. Because, let’s be frank. We all know what comes after 24 hours of this stuff.
Super Sumi Sunday.
Oh indeed.
Here’s my gaming setup. I am a fan of having multiple monitors
Pictured in the front is the Surface tablet I won at the Facebook hackathon.
It’s also where Nicholas works hard to make me money.
