Today we are exhibiting at the Virtual Reality Conference in LA. We were there to show off our robot, Peer.
The bot didn’t really work, so there wasn’t much to exhibit.
So we just sat there, talked to people about what they could have seen, and just watched all the lasers.
So many lasers.
Today I arrived in Boston, where my bear bud came from. So naturally one of the first stops was to the house my bear bud grew up in.
Somehow I’d been expecting tree forts and space stations, but I guess a good old beige home helps fuel the imagination.
So I shall actually imagine that my bear bud grew up in a space age tree fort. With lasers. Big ones. Yeah.
I just saw the big daddy of lightning canons. That’s not really a laser but it’s pretty darn close. My best bear bud and I got a private tour of the Pulse Powered Facility at the Kirkland Air Force Research Laboratory. The place looked right out of Tron. Here, I laid eyes on the Shiva Star. This thing is MASSIVE.
Imagine a machine capable of storing nearly 10 million joules of energy. And then being able to pulse 120,000 volts and 15 million amps in one millionth of a second towards an object. I don’t know what that means, but it sure sounds like a lot!
Anyway, any target of this machine stands no chance.
I got to feast my eyes on what little remained of a test cylinder, which was not much. The thing was compressed into almost nothingness.
I want this kind of power in my paws. I want Nicholas to make me my own Shiva Star. These guys are only using for research on how to achieve nuclear fusion. I’ve got so many better uses than that.
Time to start thinking.
Cousin Shirley and Cousin Anthony have a Disneyland gold pass which comes with the privilege of getting extra fast passes. Among the rides we deemed worth of trying was the Toy Story Buzz Lightyear ride. I didn’t know a thing about it, but that added to the charm and excitement of wanting to go. So we got in our short line (take that, non fast-pass suckers!) and got into the ride.
Three seconds into the ride and I knew this was going to be right up my alley. Commander Nicholas and I were situated in our spaceship. Mission? Take down the aliens. With lasers.
That’s all I needed to know. This ride is going to be so great.
Hordes of people aside I’m feeling pretty happy about happyland-Disney.
Lasers. My day is made.
